Research into spirituality and evolutionary theory
In 2006 I started a Masters degree at Exeter University, with the intention of transferring to a PhD, seeking to develop an understanding of how evolutionary theory and spirituality can speak to each other. Within the science-religion debate in general, Ian Barbour has developed a fourfold typology: conflict, independence, dialogue and integration (see, for example, his "When Science Meets Religion" [2000]). I hold to the 'dialogue' category with a strong leaning to the 'integration'.

The four pieces currently accessible consist of 1. an adaptation of my original research proposal; 2. an address I gave in a church service, subsequently posted on the 'ekklesia' web site, and re-posted on RichardDawkins.net; 3. a piece written in response to a lecture by the Archbishop of Canterbury. This too is on the ekklesia website; 4. a draft document examining some theories of human nature.

1. Spirituality and evolutionary theory

2. Why Christians should take Richard Dawkins seriously

3. Has Rowan Williams Misunderstood Richard Dawkins?

4. Human Nature and evolutionary psychology
